Peter Martino, Esq.

CEO

Peter Martino, Esq, is a highly distinguished and well-respected litigation and complex business/commercial negotiations attorney. With over twenty years of experience as both a CEO and general counsel for several highly successful international technology and retail businesses, and the recipient of recognition consecutively as a leader on the Inc. 5000 list of the nation’s fastest growing businesses, he is a force to be reckoned with. Peter has facilitated, marketed, and directed the operations for various companies from birth, through private equity stages, through their sale — from both a business and legal perspective. Among his notable accomplishments is the $30M sale of one of his companies, a high-tech company, to a French public company.

While living through September 11, 2001 in NYC, Peter, who is a 1985 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and former nuclear submarine officer, became immediately inspired to serve his country again. Fulfilling this ambition, in 2003, President Bush appointed Peter Martino to serve as a member of the Senior Executive Service, as COO for the Office of Critical Infrastructure Protection, at the new U.S. Department of Homeland Security. After serving his country again in this capacity, he decided to pursue his life-long dream of becoming an attorney and subsequently attended Georgetown Law, from which he graduated cum laude in 2007.

Peter then invested three years as an attorney and highly successful litigator at one of the nation’s top firms, Quinn, Emanuel, Urquhart, and Sullivan, in New York City. Peter focused his practice there on highly sophisticated, challenging litigation. He served as the first chair litigator in several smaller cases while demonstrating his leadership and teamwork in major cases for notable clients such as Nokia, Home Depot, Access Industries, Mattel, and NFL Properties. Before joining Jill Pogach Michaels Law in 2018, Peter served as CEO and General Counsel of a national retailer from 2010-2018. In October 2018, Peter joined our firm on an Of Counsel basis and in February 2019 was promoted to CEO of the firm where he is growing our practice and has spearheaded development of our Outside General Counsel services. In addition to serving as CEO of our firm, Peter also owns a successful eCommerce consumer products company.

Peter is admitted to the New York Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, and the D.C. Superior Court. His principal practice areas include civil litigation and appeals, business formation, contract negotiation, financings, mergers & acquisitions, trademarks, copyrights, and general business law.
